NAP Consistency Checker

Check Name/Address/Phone consistency for local SEO.

NAP Consistency Checker

Check Name, Address, Phone consistency across your citations.

What it does

This checker compares one business listing against your official name, address and phone number (NAP) and tells you field by field whether they match. It is built for citation clean-up: you copy the details from a directory, map listing or social profile and see at once which field differs. The comparison runs in your browser and nothing is looked up online, so you supply both sides yourself.

How to use it

  1. Under "Primary NAP (Your official listing)", fill in Business Name, Phone and Address exactly as they appear on your website or main profile.
  2. Under "Citation to Check", paste the Name, Phone and Address shown on the listing you are auditing.
  3. Click "Check Consistency". A banner says whether everything matches, and a table shows Match or Mismatch for each field with both values side by side.
  4. Click "Clear" to empty the citation fields and check the next listing. Your primary details stay in place.

How the comparison works

Names and addresses are lowercased, stripped of punctuation and extra spaces, then compared exactly. So "Main St." and "main st" match, but "Main St" and "Main Street" do not, and neither do "Suite 100" and "Ste 100". Accents are folded to plain letters first, so "Café" and "Cafe" match, while letters in other scripts, such as Greek or Japanese, are compared as written. Phone numbers are reduced to digits, so formatting like brackets and dashes does not matter, but a leading country code does: "+1 555 123 4567" will not match "555 123 4567". Two empty fields count as a match.

Treat a mismatch as a prompt to look, not a verdict. An abbreviation may be harmless, while a wrong suite number or an old phone number is worth correcting at the source. The goal is that customers, directories and search engines find the same details everywhere your business is listed.
